Where Can I Buy a Jump Rope?
A common question we get is "where can I purchase a jump rope, and what type should I get?" As far as jump ropes go, they really are a personal choice. However, if you are just getting started and are trying to master those all too frustrating double unders, then we suggest designing and ordering a jump rope from Rx Smart Gear or RPM.
You can pick the color of the handles from both Rx Smart Gear and RPM, and cable weight from Rx Smart Gear. We recommend you select the Rx Smart Gear buff 3.4 cable if you are a beginner, and elite 2.6 if you are a bit more experienced. More advanced jumpers may prefer a faster spinning cable like those offered by RPM.
For beginners, having a slightly heavier rope slows down the spin and makes learning a bit easier. There is a tab on the bottom of the ordering page that gives you instructions on how to determine the length of your rope (if you are new at double unders we would recommend going with the elbows in-hands out style of jumping which means you will add 2 inches to the suggested cable length based on height). It's always better to have your rope a bit longer than too short. If you ever need help measuring or cutting your cable, please let us know, we’re happy to help!
